DJ Midsole, whose real name is Paulo Padernilla, is a renowned DJ hailing from Perth, Australia, with over a decade of experience in the music industry. He has achieved notable success, being a four-time Western Australia DMC Champion and ranking 6th in the world's DMC DJ Championships. Paulo imparts his extensive knowledge and skills in DJing, specializing in scratching. His expertise extends to club performances, where he is highly sought after and has performed alongside famous artists like A-Trak, ASAP Ferg, and Baauer. Renowned for his ability to read crowds and create the perfect atmosphere for any event, DJ Midsole is a versatile and professional artist, trusted for his proficiency in catering to diverse audiences

Can I visit Midsole DJ Academy before enrolling?

In line with our current arrangement, where we utilize DJ studios at The Hen House Rehearsal Studios, we regret to inform that unscheduled visits are not feasible at this moment. Access to the studios is controlled through a booking system, which generates specific door codes for each reservation. As such, we are unable to accommodate walk-in visits without prior arrangements. Thank you for your understanding.

However, we invite prospective students to take a virtual tour of our academy. This allows you to see our facilities and interact with some of our instructors online. To participate in a virtual tour, please contact us to schedule a session.

What equipment do I need?

Students are encouraged to have their own DJ equipment for practice at home, but we are fully equipped with the latest gear for use during classes thanks to the team at The Hen House Rehearsal Studios.

Aside from DJ equipment, students are required to have a laptop computer (Mac or Windows) capable of running the Pioneer Rekordox Software (please refer to the Pioneer website for system requirements) and they must have a new USB Drive (with at least 32gb of storage) for syncing their Rekordbox formatted music.

Do you offer private lessons?

Yes, we offer private lessons for students who prefer one-on-one instruction. These can be tailored to specific needs and schedules. Please contact us for more details and availability.

How long are the lessons and the course?

Each lesson runs for 2hrs and the full DJ Course runs for 10 weeks. Please email info@djmidsole.com for detailed schedules and timings

Are there opportunities for live performances or practical experience?

While the academy encourages practical learning, it's important to note that opportunities for live performances or practical experiences largely depend on the initiative and efforts of the students themselves. The academy provides a platform and guidance, but it can't guarantee performance opportunities, as students are encouraged to seek out and secure these experiences independent

What is your policy on missed classes or rescheduling?

At Midsole DJ Academy, we understand that unexpected circumstances can arise, leading to missed classes. However, as we utilize the facilities of The Hen House Rehearsal Studios, adherence to their policies is essential. They maintain a strict 24-hour rescheduling and cancellation policy. In the event of an unnotified absence, the student will be required to cover the full cost of the lesson. If the student provides a valid reason for their absence, they will only be responsible for the room hire fee. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in these matters to ensure smooth operation and respect for our shared resources.
